You can give online at our secure site. One-time gifts are wonderful, as are recurring gifts. Some of you might be able to give $50 a month or $500 a month or a one-time gift of $5000 or even $50,000. All gifts are tax-deductible, and you will be able to download a giving statement. It would be easy to say that we give because it’s the right thing to do. But sometimes the “right thing to do” doesn’t come so easily. Truth is, it’s pretty difficult to let go of something we cling to so tightly. Retirement, possible job-loss, the dream of a bigger home, debt-free college, and security are a few of the things we cling to when it comes to deciding how much to “let go” to the church. How do we know that what we give will be invested well into growing the church into something we want to continue being a part of?
When we look at scripture it’s pretty clear. Growing up I knew about tithing. However, I recently discovered that financial giving is also a spiritual gift. God has fantastically interwoven gifts among his people to orchestrate his kingdom. We might not be personally called to take in orphans, lead mission trips, plant a church, etc. However, we ARE called to give financially. It is a crucial part of helping ministries carry out our purpose of loving people and our city.
We pray that our grip will be loosened even more. We have witnessed God’s plan for this church with awe and joy and are thankful that not only has our trust not been shaken but it has been magnified in ways we could never have imagined.
